Located on the banks of Lake Nicaragua, Granada was founded in 1524 by Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba and is a often titled as the oldest (and first) European city in the Americas.  The large and classic Cathedral of Granada, in all her glory, anchors the central plaza of this centuries old city.  As you walk down the cobblestone streets, you will find hotels, markets, bars & restaurants.  There is a lot to see and if you like old-time architecture and true Nica-culture, this is the place to be.
